Acid Reflux Disorder - Demystifying Popular Myths

Though it is common, affecting millions in both the adult and children (mostly infant) population, it has remained a mystery for the longest time.

Myth 1: Acid Reflux Disorder and Heartburn are the Same Thing

This is one very popular misconception about the disease.

Constant heartburn is the most common symptom of GERD.
These come individually as one patient may suffer from one of the conditions but do not experience the other.
It is not a simple kind of a disease.
Just because one is not experiencing heartburn or such signs, the disorder is already gone.

Myth 3: If I have Acid Reflux Disorder, I will then have Esophageal Cancer in the Long Run

Well not necessarily.
So it does not mean that if you have acid reflux, you will also be eventually stricken with the cancer of the esophagus.
What the myth suggests is the complete inversed idea of what any sufferer should do.
Consider having to change your lifestyle geared towards a healthier you and planning a diet, avoiding food that triggers the symptoms.
