Babies with Acid Reflux – Symptoms, Causes and Treatments

Unfortunately, many babies experience acid reflux.  If you are concerned that your infant has acid reflux, we have outlined some of the common symptoms that babies with acid reflux exhibit. Also, we have included a helpful video and a list of common treatments.

Babies with acid reflux can:

A minority of infants can experience less common symptoms such as

Treatments for Babies with Acid Reflux

The treatment of acid reflux in children generally depends on the severity of the problem.  If it is mild, your pediatrician might decide that no treatment is needed and advise that the reflux will go away as your baby gets older; for most children, infant acid reflux will go away after the first year of life.

For more serious cases, your doctor might prescribe medication or recommend over-the-counter (OTC) remedies to help treat the reflux.

Of course, it is very important to discuss options for treatment for babies with acid reflux with your pediatrician before beginning any treatment method.
